NotifyMail Version History Copyright 1994 by Scott Gruby
Scott_Gruby@hmc.edu
This document shows the change history for NotifyMail for the released
versions only. It does not indicate changes in each development and beta
version.
2.3.0 (5/1/94) Added ability to check mail at startup, particularly useful for
users that don't run Eudora all the time. Also added the abitility to work with
dynamic IP addressing for users that use dialup lines or networks that
assign new IP addresses on each startup.
2.2.5 (4/20/94) Minor change which allows the user to specify the port to
use via ResEdit. STR# 129, string 1.
2.2.5 (4/15/94) Fixed bug causing PowerMacs to hang sometime. Also added option
to launch any file when new mail arrives even if Eudora is running. This
allows any AppleScript applet to be run and thereby makes NotifyMail work
with ANY scriptable email package. Also added a %directory% variable that
lists all the files in the plan directory.
2.2.4 (4/6/94) Fixed a bug that caused configure program to crash if
BeHierarchic was installed. Added online help system. Recompiled using C
part of Symantec C++ 7.0.
2.2.2 (3/28/94 ) Fixed bug dealing with dialog boxes being displayed. Also
tested on a PowerMac 8100. Appears to work fine.
2.2.1 (3/21/94) Removed restriction that user had to have some type of
notification. Added neat about box in Configure NotifyMail.
2.2.0 (3/9/94) Added support for parameters in the plan file. These
parameters include current time, date, idle time, etc.
2.1.0 (3/7/94) Decided to switch NM to a fingerd daemon. The method of
triggering is finger nm_notifyuser@machinename. Added options for what to
do if no file is selected and Eudora isn't open (for AppleEvents)-either
play sound or show dialog. Added AutoOK option for dialogs. Set at 30
seconds. Also, select file is now dimmed when AppleEvents aren't chosen.
Had to do a lot of work to get the items to dim, select, etc. depending on
other options.
2.0.1 (1/19/94) Fixed a bug when dialog box was displayed and another
notification request came in.
2.0.0 (1/17/94) Initial release of completely rewritten program.
